The lettered sections of The Totality Cantos indicate my different conception of its sections at the time delineated by flush left lines, being interested in how unequal parts connected, before sections were equalized as ten lines each, enabling their comparisons. There is also a different articulation of lines including before I made suppressing verbs a principle in order to increase connections in what I call “smooth syntax.” I think of The Totality Cantos before restarting it in 2017 as the Ur-Totality Cantos. Joshua’s work would be published in Red Epic (2015). Lyn’s work would be published in The Unfollowing (2016) and Positions of the Sun (2018). After this reading, Lyn invited me that year to contribute to her Atelos Publishing Project and published The Totality Cantos in 2022. —Brian Ang, April 23, 2026 |
